I am a Skincare Fanatic, and a licensed Esthetician in the State of Texas. I am currently studying business, in order for me to have the proper understanding on how to start and run my own spa. I have worked in the aesthetics industry for 2 years at day spas, and medical spas. I have a little science nerd inside of me who loves to research about what different ingredients do, what certain facial treatments do for your skin, how they do it, etc. I want to learn everything I can, and I love to yap about it all day long.
What started this passion for this industry was “Golden Age” of YouTube (From 2010-2016). I was obsessed with makeup and all these beauty tutorials, I wanted to try everything and anything these influencers were talking about. All of these tutorials and “Get Ready With Me” videos had common theme of, the makeup won’t look flawless unless you take care of the skin underneath. That really shifted my interest and I started looking into skincare.
I was spending hours in Sephora just looking at all the bottles reading the ingredients. What made me realized that I wanted to become an aesthetician was when I followed my mom to one of her facial appointments. I felt like I was watching a combination of a witch & a mad scientist cook up some magical potions to make my mom youthful forever. I wanted to be that for everyone.
Since I graduated from Aesthetics school and worked for different spas, I realized I could do so much more for my patients if I was in the driver seat. Since I am currently not practicing (at the time I am writing this), I made this blog to share my knowledge as a professional in the industry, and to make a little community where we can all share our experiences and knowledge and discuss the hot topics that are happening currently in the industry.
